Where We’ll Take You on Your Sunset Cruise
There’s nothing quite like seeing Bald Head Island from the water at golden hour. Our sunset boat cruises are designed to give you front-row seats to one of the most beautiful shows nature has to offer.
As we set out from Bald Head Island or Southport, you’ll glide through calm intercoastal waters and take in panoramic views of the shoreline. Depending on conditions and your group’s preferences, we’ll chart a course that may include:
- Old Baldy Lighthouse: Watch the island’s iconic lighthouse light up against a backdrop of orange and pink skies.
- The Creeks & Marshes: A peaceful ride through winding waterways where herons, egrets, and dolphins are often spotted.
- Cape Fear River & Atlantic Horizons: Experience the vast, open waters as the sun dips below the horizon.
- Nearby Sandbars: Drop anchor at a quiet spot to toast the evening with your favorite beverage.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening for two, a fun outing with friends, or a family adventure, our sunset cruises strike the perfect balance of relaxation and excitement. Some guests enjoy bringing a picnic or charcuterie board, while others simply lean back, sip their drinks, and let the colors of the sky wash over them.
Every cruise is private and customizable — meaning no strangers onboard and no fixed itinerary. Just you, your guests, and the beauty of Bald Head Island at sunset.

FAQ's About Our Sunset Cruises
How many people can join the sunset boat cruise?
Each cruise is private and accommodates up to 6 passengers per vessel. This makes it perfect for couples, families, or small groups who want a private, intimate experience.
Can we bring alcohol or food on board?
Yes! Our cruises are BYOB. We’ll provide a cooler with ice, bottled water, and cups. Many guests also bring a picnic or charcuterie board to enjoy while watching the sunset.
What boats do you use for the cruise?
You’ll have the choice of our 34' Edgewater (dual engines, open-air layout) or our 38' Pursuit (triple engines, with air-conditioned cabin and shaded seating). Both are spacious, safe, and perfect for relaxing evenings on the water.
Where do the sunset cruises depart from?
We can depart from Bald Head Island, Southport, Deep Point, Morningstar, or Dutchman’s Creek depending on your preference. When booking, just let us know the best pickup point for your group.
How long is the cruise?
Our sunset boat cruises typically last around 2 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the views, wildlife, and golden hour glow. Extended custom charters are available upon request.
What will we see on the sunset cruise?
Depending on your route and weather conditions, you may see:
The Old Baldy Lighthouse at sunset
Dolphins and seabirds in the waterways
The marshes and creeks of Bald Head Island
Wide-open views of the Cape Fear River and Atlantic Ocean
Is the cruise pet-friendly?
Yes – well-behaved pets are welcome on board. Many of our guests bring their dogs along for the ride.
What if it rains or the weather is bad?
Your safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule your cruise or provide a refund.
Is there a bathroom on the boat?
Yes – our 38' Pursuit includes a bathroom onboard. The 34' Edgewater does not, so families with small children or those who prefer extra amenities may prefer the Pursuit.
Do you offer group discounts or packages?
Yes – if you’re planning multiple cruises during your stay, ask about multi-trip discounts when booking.
How far in advance should we book our sunset boat cruise?
Sunset cruises are one of our most popular offerings and often book up quickly, especially in summer. We recommend reserving at least 1–2 weeks in advance, though same-day bookings may be available.
